A new eSports WRC concept – FIA Junior WRC eSports Shootout – was viewed by tens of thousands of fans around the world at the weekend, in a trial run that doubled as a qualifying event for an exciting new WRC eSports competition, to be announced later this week.
With eSports WRC already running a championship among gamers, as well as weekly challenges, the Shootout was an opportunity to involve drivers, co-drivers – and team bosses – who are training from home during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Unlike circuit racing events which allow for multi-player events, the FIA Junior WRC adopted a knock-out style approach, pitting competitors against each other over three nights of action, culminating in Sunday night’s final between Romania’s Raul Badiu and Italy’s Elia de Guio.
Action took place on the island of Sardinia, with the final decided over two stages, with Badiu comfortably taking the win by over 10 seconds.
The trial event proved to be a resounding success. Streamed on Facebook, the three nights of action drew a larger-than-expected audience, with strong engagement from fans around the world. ผลบอลวันนี้
